HERO simplifies and enhances advertising services, making them more efficient. Users have the ability to configure the HERO channel to handle SCTE-35 and SCTE-104 messages. These messages provide information about ad-enabled events and other non-ad-enabled events.

The SCTE-35 message can be included in the original MPEG-2 transport stream (TS), while the SCTE-104 message can be incorporated into the source content of the HERO appliance. As soon as the SCTE-104 messages are collected as input, they are automatically converted into SCTE-35 messages. For Adsignal insertion, HERO offers a dedicated ESAM API.
